Capacity Building Programme for teachers

DAV Centenary Public School, Haldwani, hosted a two-day Capacity Building Programme for teachers, focusing on innovative teaching methodologies in English (Middle Section), Science (Primary Section) and ICT (Primary Section). The initiative, held on June 27th and 28th, 2025, aimed to empower educators with advanced skills and creative approaches to enrich the student learning experience.
Approximately 20 enthusiastic teachers from various branches of DAV, Uttarakhand actively participated in the programme. The sessions were thoughtfully designed to be interactive, practical, collaborative, ensuring maximum engagement and learning.
English (Middle Section) – Facilitator: Ms. Garima Tewari
Participants explored practical strategies for English language acquisition, with a strong emphasis on the LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) framework. The sessions introduced innovative, hands-on methods to make English learning more engaging and effective.
Science (Primary Section) – Facilitator: Ms. Harshita Pandey
Teachers learned to connect classroom content with real-life experiences and integrate transdisciplinary words. The workshop highlighted the use of educational apps for student assessment and evaluation, hands-on activities, specific methods like the Scamper technique and diagram-making skill.
ICT (Primary Section) – Facilitator:
Ms. Vineeta Mungali
The ICT workshop focused on Cyber Security, equipping teachers with knowledge about cyber threats, cyberbullying, and CCTV policies. Participants also learned to create interactive quizzes and spray diagrams. Engaging activities such as role-plays and Nukkad Natak helped teachers internalize and communicate key concepts effectively.
The programme culminated in a Certification Ceremony, graced by Principal Mr. Amit Joshi. He commended the teachers for their dedication to professional growth and their commitment to delivering quality education. Participants were awarded certificates for successfully completing the training.
A highlight of the closing ceremony was the sharing of key takeaways by the participants, which clearly demonstrated how quickly and effectively the training could be applied in their classrooms. This collaborative reflection emphasized the programme’s success in fostering a dynamic, innovative, and continuously improving educational environment.
