The Youth Parliament, held at DAV Centenary Public School in Haldwani on October 25, 2024, was a significant event that encouraged young minds to engage in meaningful discussions and debates. Organized under the National Youth Parliament Scheme launched by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, the event saw enthusiastic participation from students of classes IX-XII. The event aimed to foster critical thinking and leadership skills in young people. A mock Parliament was set up, beginning with an obituary to Ratan Tata, followed by Question Hour, and discussions on various issues such as the NEET controversy, J&K border security and terrorism, India's stand on the Russia-Ukraine war, implementation of UCC, and heinous crimes against women. Two bills were also discussed: The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, and The Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Bill, 2024.
