On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, DAV School,Haldwani organized a series of activities and events to honour the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and to promote the values of cleanliness, discipline, and patriotism among students.
The day commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony, where the national tricolor was raised by the Principal, Mr.Amit Joshi.The event was marked by patriotic fervor, as the entire school gathered to sing the national anthem.
Following the flag hoisting, the much anticipated Mini Marathon took place under the theme of "Run for DAV". The race aimed to promote fitness and unity among students and staff. Participants from various classes enthusiastically joined the marathon, which covered a route through the school’s campus and surrounding areas. The students were awarded medals and certificates of participation as a token of encouragement and appreciation.
In line with Gandhiji’s emphasis on cleanliness, a Cleanliness Drive was organized within the school premises and nearby areas. Students and teachers actively participated, cleaning the school grounds and surrounding streets. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, contributing to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at DAV School was a huge success.Principal Mr. Amit Joshi delivered a speech that highlighted the importance of Gandhiji’s values of truth, non-violence and simplicity. Thus, instilling a sense of responsibility and national pride in the students.
