Matribhasha Diwas (Mother Tongue Day) on 21.02.2019

‘The Matribhasha Divas’ celebrated by DAV Haldwani on 21^st February 2017. UNESCO has recently declared 21^st February every year as International Mother Language Day to promote the dissemination of mother tongues and fuller awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world and to inspire solidarity based on understanding, tolerance and dialogue.

A special assembly was conducted by the Hindi department of the school to celebrate ‘Matribhasha Diwas’. Children were enlightened about the linguistic diversity of our country. They were encouraged to use other Indian languages to connect to the varied culture of India. Different programs such as speech, poem recitation and songs in different languages like Kumauni, Maithli and Telgu were being organized.
